Arsenal Reportedly Set to Sign Real Madrid Star Rodrygo
Arsenal Football Club are reportedly set to sign Real Madrid’s forward Rodrygo as they look to strengthen their team ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
Reports emerging from Spain suggest that both Real Madrid and their new head coach, Xabi Alonso, are open to parting ways with Rodrygo this summer. The Brazilian forward has struggled to cement his place in the team following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti.
The 24-year-old recently made his first appearance for Madrid in 53 days during their opening Club World Cup fixture—a 1-1 draw against Al Hilal on June 18. However, he has only played less than 30 minutes across three matches under Alonso. These limited minutes reportedly led to an agreement between Ancelotti and Rodrygo that he would not be called up to Brazil’s squad for the international games against Ecuador and Paraguay last month.
Rodrygo’s father and agent, Eric Goes, has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with his son’s situation at Real Madrid. He cited the overwhelming competition for attacking roles with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham often preferred in the starting lineup.
Should a move materialize, Rodrygo would be Arsenal’s latest addition in an ambitious summer window as the Gunners aim to challenge on multiple fronts next season.
