The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is a regional organization of 15 West African countries established on May 28, 1975, through the Treaty of Lagos. Its mission is to promote economic integration and cooperation across the region.
ECOWAS, through its specialized institution GIABA (Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa), is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the position below:

🌍 Role Overview
The Office Manager will support the Director of Evaluation and Compliance by ensuring the efficient and organized operation of the office. Duties will include managing appointments, calls, correspondence, and document filing, along with coordinating meetings and monitoring office supply needs. The ideal candidate must be responsive, professional, and capable of managing competing priorities from internal and external stakeholders.
📝 Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the supervisor’s schedule, appointments, calls, and meetings.
- Welcome visitors, manage the Director’s diary, and screen calls for priority handling.
- Organize internal and external meetings, prepare correspondence, and provide office support.
- Implement a structured system for managing incoming/outgoing mail and filing official documents.
- Ensure prompt follow-up on documents submitted for the Director’s attention or signature.
- Track and request office supplies, equipment, and materials as needed.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Director.
🎓 Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in bilingual secretariat studies or a related administrative field.
- At least 6 years of progressive secretarial experience, especially in a bilingual international environment.
- Strong knowledge of document processing, editorial support, and communication protocols.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in one ECOWAS official language (English, French, or Portuguese); proficiency in a second language is an advantage.
- Age: Candidates must be between 24 and 50 years old (internal candidates are exempt from the age limit).
💰 Salary Scale
- G5: UC 31,502.30 (approx. US$ 49,704.33 per year)
- G6: UC 35,815.21 (approx. US$ 56,509.24 per year)
- G7: UC 40,223.63 (approx. US$ 63,464.83 per year)
